Algae industry is an important part of aquaculture industry in China. This paper summarizes the current situation of the establishment of the relevant standards for algae breeding and processing in China, constructs the algae standard system, and discusses the construction of the algae standard system in terms of algae breeding, disease detection, product production, processing and quality detection technology. Furthermore, this paper put forward suggestions on supporting the development of the whole industry chain standard system, carrying out research on the key common technologies of algae, accelerating the standards construction induding algae processing universal basis, product quality evaluation and detection methods, processing quality control management and traceability specifications, storage and fresh-keeping, cold chain logistics fresh-frozen algae, as well as energy consumption quota and carbon neutrality, and promoting the effective connection of upstream and downstream standards of the industry chain. It aims to promote the high-quality development of algae industry through standardization construction research, and provides a strong standard system support for algae breeding, processing, circulation, etc. [Chinese Fishery Quality and Standards, 2023, 13(1): 42-50]
